Halo Contact Harvest Chapter 8

This chapter is about the fight between Johnson and his group and the Decon and Kig-Yar, with the Kig-Yar ship coming up to another "alien" (human) ship. It starts off with the Kig-Yar shipmistress boarding the humans ship. Once inside the ship they find the same things like the last ship. After a bit of looking around the shipmistress feels a sharp and hot pain through her pressure suit and ricochet off the ships wall. She retreats back to her ship wounded. Now it switches to the Human perspective telling just what happened. The other aliens (King-Yar) attack Johnshon and Brian. They win that fight and Johnson follows after the leader alien back to her ship. The twist was that he only had a few minutes before Jilan would blow up the alien ship. Johnson goes cautiously to the ship. Once inside the alien ship a few seconds went by and then Johnson gets shot at by a bolt of plasma.  He dodges it hiding behind a door and knows he has to take out the leader. So he switches magazines and counts to three. Switches perspective to Kig-Yar. The shipmistress finds out that the Decon is warning the higher command of the Covanate of things the shipmistress has done. She runs away and gets killed by Johnson and the Decon run to the escape pod, but wates for the Huragok. He finaly comes and tells the Decon that he saved them and hurt one of the aliens (Johnson). They escape but for how long? Back on Harvest Jenkins, a troooper from Johnson's squad, was practicing shooting. After a bit of practicing be takes a test and finds out that he had made sharpshooter rank.

Halo Contact Harvest Chapter 5

In this chapter Avery was relocated and didn' even know he was being relocated. In chapter 4 he comes out of cryo sleep and meets a Corpsman named Healy, which Avery does personaly like because how he acts at times. It starts with the two of them making thier decent to Harvest. On the ride down Healy has a few drinks and is drunk by the end. They get into a taxi, that was for them, and the taxi was to take them to a destination. Healy has another idea and wants to change the destination when Avery gets mad and takes control of the car. They get to the place after a bit of agruing and yelling. Once Avery was unpacked he heard some one coming to the barraks he was staying at. To his amazment his old team mate Brian from the prolog is still alive. They get into a nasty fight when finally Captain Ponder breaks them up adn they go their different ways.

Halo Contact Harvest Prologue

Before I start blogging on this book here is some detail between the last book and this book. The last book, The Fall of Reach, was based just before the story of the video game. Contact Harvest has pretty much no concept of what happens in the video games. This book is based even before The Fall of Reach and this more talks about what happens at Harvest and the story behind Staff Sergeant Avery Johnson, the person from the video game series. Ok with that covered I will start talking about the prologue. It starts off with two four-man squads inside a Hornet flying towards a town, which was said to have Insurrectionist bomb-shop. Avery was one of the squad leaders with another Saff Sergeat as the other. Both Hornets touched down and they enter the Innies building and surcure the area. They find people and the marines interigate them to tell them where the bombs are. They find out it is built into the car tires. They take a sample and then leave on the Hornets. Avery finds a signal from a machine, to find bomb materials, on a near by trucks wheels. They go over there and the machine finds another signal that was pointing to a woman in the coffee shop near the truck. The second group of marines go in, while the woman was in the bathroom, and they grab her purse which was the bomb. The lady comes out and takes a hostage, while everyone is runinng away and the marines, in the shop, cant do anything.Avery has a chance to take out the lady but having a risk of hitting the hostage. He waits to long and the lady blows up the shop.

Halo the Fall of Reach Chapter 27

 In this chapter Master Chief is getting another upgrade and a new suit which he does not know yet. He goes into the building and finds Dr. Halsey. She gives Chief the upgrade, which was something implanted in the back of his head, and the new suit which Dr. Halsey says about how the suit he was using before is not as strong as this suit. She tell him that they made hundreds of minor upgrades and two major ones. John finds out one of the major upgrades were that the MJOLNIR armor has shields now. The other was the AI that will be inside the armor helping improve his ability and to take down a Covenate battleship. Dr. Halsey tells Chief that he was going to do some test to work on getting to know the AI, Cortana, and the armor. He is to go though the obstical course that is on the base and to use any means nessecary. The people that are high in rank in ONI wanted Chief to fail so "they might put some twists in the obstical course," said Dr. Halsey Cheif is to get to the end and ring a bell. Dr. Halsey tells him to count to ten and then start the mission. He does and was shot by ODST using live rounds. Then he had to get though a mine field and after that ONI sent helicopters. In the end Chief finished the course coming out alive. I like this chapter because I can picture Master Chief in the first Halo game doing all this. The running, tallking with Cortana, and figuring out what they have to do to stay alive.

Halo the Fall of Reach Chapter 19-20 and 22

Chapter nineteen is a little bit of background information on what happens in chapter twenty. In nineteen we start by following some marines in a warthog driving fast away from Covenate forces. They tell their story about how they were setting up motion sensors when they were attacked ad started to fall back to their base. When they make it back to their base they find out that the base was destroyed and planned to head to HQ. Along the way at one of the checkpoints they find some marines and stay with them. They call for an evac and when one dropship come down the marines get mad thinking one dropship is nothing. Until Master Cheif (aka John) comes out ending chapter nineteen. The Spartans come out and secured the area, and then got up to speed. They tell the marines to take the dropship back. After that happens they move out heading towards Côte d' Azur and find out it is take over by Covenate. They go in and take out some Covenate and find out so interesting things and new Covenate species. I like these chapters because this really shows how powerful the Spartans are compared to the other marines. The speed they move at and the level of  thinking they are doing to get the mission done completely without failing.

Halo the Fall of Reach Chapter 17

In this chapter we are following Commander Keyes in UNSC Iroquois. Commander Keyes just found out that a few Covenant ships were coming to the same plant as they were though slipspace. Keyes called in for help as they got ready for a fight. This whole chapter is about how Commander Keyes pulls off the impossible and destroys four Covenant ships while staying alive. Also one of the ships being a destroyer which is much more powerful then the Iroquois. I liked this chapter because the author explains so much detail about what Commander Keyes is thinking about, also the things he does with the ship destroying the others single handily. At the end of the chapter they find out that the Covenant ships deployed dropships to the plants surface heading straight towards and a big city named Côte d' Azur.

Halo the Fall of Reach Chapter 13-14

The plot happing in this chapter is the spartans are going to Chi Ceti 4 for a some thing called project MJOLNIR. Along the way the Commonwealth, the frigate Dr. Hasly and her spartans are taking to get the plant, incounters a Covante ship and gets into a battle. Both the ships take massive damage Dr. Hasly and the spartans leave the ship to go down to Chi Ceti 4 to get project MJOLNIR as the Commonwealth makes a diverstion for them. The spartans make it down and find out that project MJOLNIR is not a weapon but armor. The spartans,  Dr. Hasly, and the people at the station head back to the Commonwealth. Along the way the damaged Conante ship is spotted and heading towards the frigate. John, the main charactor of the book, asks Dr. Hasly permission to destroy the Covanate ship. John and the other spartans go out and destroy the ship but losing a spartan named Sam.
